Block, release and scrap

Use stock actions to block, release, reject, or scrap a quantity. These actions preserve the audit trail: disposition changes write quality disposition records and inventory events.

1. Open the stock actions. For a tracked item, open the action menu on the lot. For an untracked item, open the item card and select Stock action. The menu shows actions for dispositions that currently have positive quantity.

2. Choose the target action.

   Action	Effect
   Release	Moves quantity from blocked or rejected to available.
   Block	Moves quantity from available or rejected to blocked.
   Reject	Moves quantity from available or blocked to rejected.
   Scrap	Removes quantity from the selected disposition.

3. Enter quantity and notes. The dialog defaults to the full quantity for that disposition. Enter a positive quantity no greater than what is available in the source disposition, then add optional notes.

4. Confirm. Release, block, and reject write quality_disposition_change events. Scrap writes quality_scrap, decrements on-hand quantity, and records a quality disposition event with no target disposition.

Only Available stock can be used

Blocked and rejected quantities remain visible in the disposition totals on the item card or lot, but they are held out of sellable and consumable stock. Scrap is different: it removes stock from inventory.

Location behavior

The current disposition operation resolves the default inventory location. Treat these actions as default-location quality moves unless the app adds a location picker.
